Mary Siebert (Misty Meadows Farm) – Grower

Mary Siebert lives on Misty Meadows Farm in Ridgefield, Washington and has been growing veggies off and on for at least 20 years. Her favorite vegetables to grow are corn and potatoes because they’re so easy to do. Mary has several raised garden beds, which she says make it easy to control the pests. It must be an effective method because the only pest control she does is to fling away the slugs when they slither up into the beds. Mary also loves to start plants from seeds because it feels like it’s her own creation, a work of art as well as nature. When fertilizing, she finds that compost as well as aged horse and chicken manure do the trick. Mary aims to begin her own CSA in the next two to three years, so stay tuned!

In addition to her role as a grower, Mary is also Backyard Bounty’s amazing tote bag and t-shirt maven . Check out her creations at our next market booth or get in touch to place a special order.
